Noah Bailey is a free-wheeling child of the sixties, a young stud of the seventies, adrift in the materialistic eighties, who eventually finds himself in the nineties, only to question it all in the new millennium. Spanning 45 years, About Noah navigates the ups and downs of careers, relationships and the mother of all over-bearing mothers.
Based on the philosophical premise that who we are is to be found in how we are perceived by others and not in how we perceive ourselves, this laugh-out-loud comedy follows Noah’s story through the eyes of those he has affected, as well as those who have had an effect on him.
As the story unfolds, the audience feels as if it is in a time-travel machine that makes various stops throughout Noah’s life. No matter if it is in good times or bad, you will find yourself cheering him on. Noah’s journey will have you laughing at his foibles and holding your breath as he approaches life’s cross roads.
About Noah is long on laughs, but make no mistake, this is a thinking person’s comedy. It will leave you discussing and savoring long after you leave the theatre. Audiences can look forward to a memorable theatrical experience unlike anything else they have seen.
Paula Coco has worked as a stand-up comedian in New York at such clubs as The Improv, Caroline’s and The Comic Strip. She was a finalist in the Bud Lite/Fox Network Funniest Comedian Contest, as well as Connecticut’s Funniest Comedian Contest. In both cases, she was the only female comic to make the top five. In addition, she was the founder and artistic director of Connecticut’s longest running Improv troupe, The WHIT. About Noah is Ms. Coco’s sixth play to be produced and she is delighted to have the opportunity to direct it. Coco is a native Texan and has recently moved back to the Dallas ‘burbs.
